Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency's Chief Administrator, Glenn Pelecky Selected To Attend The German-American Fulbright Commission's Seminar In Germany For U.S. Superintendents 2004
Glenn Pelecky, Chief Administrator of the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency has been awarded a Fulbright Administrator grant to study the educational system in Germany. In October 2004, Pelecky along with 14 other U.S. superintendents will travel to Germany for two weeks to observe successful educational models such as the German school-to-work model and the cooperation between the private and public sector.
The focus of the German-American Fulbright Commission’s Seminar for U.S. Superintendents 2004 is to highlight the German educational system in the broadest sense. Grantees will have the opportunity to foster and expand U.S.-German teacher exchanges in order to develop school linkages and professional partnerships. Other topics of discussion will be trends in education reform, curriculum development and teaching methodology. Pelecky was selected from an applicant pool of 73 superintendents.
Pelecky is one of approximately 200 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad for the 2004-2005 academic year through the Fulbright Teacher and Administrator Exchange Program. The Program aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the rest of the world.
