On-line Master's Degree courses for K-12 teachers: Summer registration deadline is March 01, 2005
The Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency and Walden University in collaboration with Canter-produced programs bring K - 12 teachers distance learning Master's Degree Programs that are practical, convenient, relevant, collaborative, and affordable. These On-line Master's Degree programs are designed to give teachers skills and knowledge that can be immediately applied in their classrooms. Walden University's On-line Master's Degree Programs are flexible and designed to fit the busiest teacher's schedule by allowing each student to work at an individual pace. This On-line learning opportunity also gives the most ambitious learners the freedom to progress more rapidly than might be possible in a traditional campus-based program.
Master's Programs can be completed in as little as 18-24 months.
Walden admits applicants who are self-motivated, have access to a computer and the Internet, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in a 4.0 scale, and who possess a valid teaching license, or have two years of teaching experience. In addition to ensure success in the program, students should be comfortable in using Windows or Macintosh programs, have proficient emailing skills, knowledge of Internet use, and be familiar with a word processing program.
The following Master's Programs are available:
- MS in Education with a focus on Elementary Reading and Literacy
- MS in Education with a focus on Integrating Technology in the Classroom
- MS in Education with a focus on Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
- MS in Education with a specialization in Middle Level Education
- MS in Education with a specialization in Literacy and Learning in the Content Areas
- MS in Education with a specialization in Mathematics
The cost for these programs is; $298.00 per credit hour. This includes textbooks and materials, except for the Middle Level Education Program. Walden also offers group tuition discounts, and a full range of financial aid options to assist with tuition fees.
The Master's in Education Programs are offered on a semester academic calendar. Programs offered on a semester basis include two eight-week courses offered continuously. Registration for summer 2005 semester enrollment is March 1, 2005. The start date for the summer semester is May 2, 2005.
