Mandatory/Non-Mandatory Trainings

The AEA Learning Online (ALO) provides educators with access to self-paced required employee training, relicensure courses, and graduate courses.

Authorized Use
This system is intended for employees of Iowa Area Education Agencies, the public and private school districts they support, and other authorized users. Unauthorized use or sharing of passwords is prohibited.

Training Requirements
Required Training for Educators and District Staff varies by district, so please check with your district to confirm your specific requirements. Most trainings, including Mandatory Reporter, are free for employees of districts that participate in the AEA PD Online system. If your district opts out, or if you are not listed in the system as a district employee, a $25 fee will apply for each training.

Relicensure & Graduate Courses
Relicensure and graduate courses are open to anyone, regardless of district employment status. Standard course fees apply.

District Verification Code
A district verification code is required when registering with a district or when transferring to a new district. You can obtain this code from your district system administrator. If you are already registered but have forgotten your login information, contact your principal or district system administrator for assistance.

Account Registration
If you have had an account in the system before, do not create a new one within the system, as this can cause the loss of training records and issues logging in. If you are unsure whether you have a previous account, try resetting your password or contact the Professional Learning Department at proflearning@aea9.k12.ia.us or 563-344-6481 for assistance.
