Student Activities

Kid University scheduled for June 15-19 at Bettendorf Middle School has been cancelled.

College for Kids scheduled for June 15-19 and June 22-26 at Pleasant Valley High School has been cancelled. 

The purpose of the Student Activities is to support the educational process by providing quality enrichment programs for students on a variety of subjects in a safe and supportive environment. Students participating in any of the following programs are expected to follow the Student Guidelines for safety and behavior.

Kid University:  8:30-11:50 a.m. if registering for 3 classes
Target Group: Students who have completed 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade
Fee: $100 for one class, $125 for two classes and $150 for three classes

Description: Kid University is a summer enrichment program for highly motivated students. In this 5-day program, students can choose up to three one-hour classes from past examples such as Body Wonders, LEGO Adventure, Spanish, Creating with Computers, and more. Students enjoy stimulating, activity-oriented classes from experienced, certified teachers.

Time Line: Registration forms will be available on this website beginning mid-February. Register online, download a registration form and mail it to us, or call the Student Programs office to register over the phone with a credit card.

College for Kids:
Target Group: Students who have completed 5th, 6th or 7th grades
Fee: $100 for one class, $125 for two classes and $150 for three classes

Description: College for Kids is a 5-day summer enrichment program for highly motivated students. Students may register for up to three one-hour classes from past examples such as World War II, Sculpture, Mythology, Dissection, Sew Cool, The Hero's Journey-A Study of Star Wars, and more. Students enjoy stimulating, activity-oriented classes from experienced, certified teachers. Students qualify for the program based on Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) scores OR recommendation by a teacher, counselor, or principal.

Time Line: Course catalogs will be available on this website in mid-February. Download a College for Kids catalog, print a registration form and mail it to us, or call the Student Programs office to register over the phone with a credit card.

Local Commitment: Each school is asked to identify a College for Kids contact person who will identify students for the program based on ISASP scores or teacher, counselor, or principal recommendation.
