Inclusive Classroom Conference Learning and Implementation
The conference will feature sessions and strategies to help educators utilize individualized instruction that empowers every student to become an expert at learning. Technology and instruction interventions can be designed to support students with disabilities. These practices provide a pathway for designing inclusive, equitable, and accessible educational experiences that meet the needs of every learner.
Licensure Renewal Credit Registration: If you wish to receive 1 renewal credit, you must register in the AEA Professional Learning system in ADDITION to filling out the Inclusive Classroom Conference form.

CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Bringing Masonry into the Industrial Tech Classroom
The Masonry Institute of Iowa and the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 3 have partnered to offer post-secondary industrial technology professionals an opportunity for a hands-on educational learning experience in masonry. Included in the two-day course will be hands-on instruction – with the intent to teach proper bricklaying methods that instructors can pass along to their students. This course will also include a masonry curriculum for teachers to implement on how to teach a masonry unit in the classroom. Curriculum materials such as instructional videos, tests, evaluations, worksheets, and classroom set-up will be provided.
Teaching Outdoor Skills: Fish Iowa! Basic Spincasting
This blended course will acquaint participants with Fish Iowa! Basic Spincasting teaching module and a variety of other resources to teach fishing in a variety of settings. Participants will learn fishing basics, including fish identification, fishing locations, casting techniques, and cleaning and cooking fish. Participants will experience lake/pond fishing and be introduced to a variety of Aquatic WILD activities to extend the module. Instruction will include a variety of demonstrations and hands-on, experiential approaches. Activities will also include peer teaching and small group work to develop appropriate teaching strategies for individual teaching situations. Participants must have a valid Iowa fishing license to participate in (required) fishing activities. Participants must complete online activities vis Moodle (AEAOnline) prior to the in-person class.

Preparing our English Learners Conference 2023
This English Learner Conference will offer opportunities for educators to learn about a variety of EL-related topics. Local, state, and national experts will engage participants in focused professional learning sessions designed to increase and enhance knowledge and skills of EL instruction. Participants will have the opportunity to attend 3 keynote addresses as well as choose which 60-minute sessions of interest they will attend, consisting of Academic Language, Using ELPA21 Data to Guide Classroom Instruction, Future Ready for ELs, Meaningful Differentiation, Effective Co-Teaching and Collaboration Methods and Social Emotional Learning for Multilingual Learners.
PARAEDUCATOR GENERALIST COURSES
The series of three courses cover the competencies as directed by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BoEE). These competencies cover the skills needed for a paraeducator to be successful in the classroom. It is recommended that the courses be taken in sequential order. The series is a total of 90 hours of training that is a blend of face-to-face (or virtual) course time and online work. Each of the paraeducator generalist courses requires 30 hours to complete. The target audience is PreK-12 paraeducators currently working in a school classroom or desiring to work in the school system.
