Professional Learning

Professional learning opportunities are available to enhance educator skills and practices to improve student learning. These include licensure renewal and graduate credit courses, paraeducator certification; substitute authorization training, and informational classes held face-to-face, virtually, and in a blended environment.

The AEA Learning Online System provides educators with self-paced required training, relicensure courses, and graduate courses. Most district-required trainings are free for Iowa AEA employees and supported school districts, while non-district users or those in non-participating districts pay \$25 per training. A district verification code is required for registration, and existing users should contact the Professional Learning Department rather than creating a new account. Relicensure and graduate courses are open to anyone at standard course fees.
